Joseph W. Reed
Joseph Reed, Professor Emeritus of English and American Studies at Wesleyan University, became interested in printmaking and painting in the 1970s. Experimenting with all of these mediums, he produced a body of work characterized by its sobriety and painstaking attention to historical detail. Thematic series include “Chief Executives Underwater,” “First Ladies In Space,” and “The History of Western Ant.” Notable individual works include “Carmen Miranda and The Seventh Seal” and “Mamie Doud Eisenhower and Cardinal Richelieu.” More information at www.josephreed.net.
