Esther Kirshenbaum, a painter and lithographer, was born and raised in Michigan. Trained in the sciences, she taught and tutored in her chosen field but turned instead to art. She spent several years living and working as an artist in New York City before returning to Ann Arbor, Michigan where she was Director of the Michigan Guild Gallery, and taught printmaking. She returned to New York City and currently lives in Brooklyn.
